FlashGet is specifically designed to address two of the biggest
problems when downloading files: Speed and management of downloaded
files. If you’ve ever waited forever for your files to download from a
slow connection, or been cut off mid-way through a download - or just
can’t keep track of your ever-growing downloads - FlashGet is for you.
FlashGet can split downloaded files into sections, downloading each
section simultaneously, for an increase in downloading speed from 100%
to 500%. This, coupled with FlashGet’s powerful and easy-to-use
management features, helps you take control of your downloads like
never before.
FlashGet displays download progress in ranks of glittering dots, but
its acceleration is not as pronounced as most. Its inability to start a
download without confirmation makes for slow starts. We ran into
difficulty locating configuration settings, a problem aggravated by a
help system that apparently belongs to an earlier version. Nonetheless,
the software managed and categorized our sample downloads efficiently.

VLC media player (initially VideoLAN Client) is a media player from the VideoLAN project.
It supports many audio and video codecs and file formats as well as
DVDs, VCDs and various streaming protocols. It can also be used as a
server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a
high-bandwidth network. It employs the libavcodec codec library from
the FFmpeg project to handle many of the formats it supports, and uses
the libdvdcss DVD decryption library to handle playback of encrypted
DVDs. VLC also has the ability to convert many formats of media from
one type to another.
VLC is also known for its relatively unique ability to play
video files from uncompressed WinRAR archives saving the need to unpack
(extract) the files from the rars. Also, it has the ability to let the
user view the video content of incomplete, unfinished video downloads
before they've been fully downloaded to the hard drive.

VirtualDrive Pro copies an entire CD or DVD as a compressed disc image file, or virtual CD. The software contains a driver that fools Windows into treating VCDs as physical CDs running in CD-ROM drives.
You can create an unlimited number of virtual CDs and DVDs, and configure as many
